The Fitzpatrick’s Mercedes-Benz Apprentice Derby
We kicked things off on Friday evening with one of our absolute favorite events on the racing calendar. This race is all about giving the next generation of young riders their moment in the spotlight, and it certainly delivered.
The trophy went to Darius Dark, trained by Johnny Murtagh and ridden beautifully by apprentice Rory Mulligan. Showing massive determination over the 1m 4f distance, Rory made a brilliant move inside the final two furlongs to secure a fantastic win. A huge congratulations to Rory, Johnny, and all the connections!
The Fitzpatrick’s Garage Group Handicap
On Saturday, things moved a bit faster. This one was a quick 6f sprint, it was a brilliant watch!
The stunning grey colt Midnight Dusk completely stole the show. Trained by Jack Foley and guided by jockey Billy Lee, Midnight Dusk kicked clear of the field in the final furlong to win comfortably by over three lengths. It was a spectacular performance and a thoroughly well-deserved victory!
