Our History

Fitzpatricks Garage was founded in 1951, in a small lane just off the Square in Kildare Town by Mr. Jimmy Fitzpatrick, an uncle of the current Managing Director, Mr. Andy Fitzpatrick. In 1968, the business was relocated to its current premises on the Dublin Road, Kildare. Today this is the main site and head office of the Fitzpatricks Garage Group of Companies.

In 1974 Fitzpatricks Garage were awarded the Toyota franchise for County Kildare, 1985 saw Fitzpatricks Toyota expand into a new dealership on the Dublin Road Naas, which recently relocated to a new state-of-the-art premises at Naas Industrial Estate.

In 1995, Fitzpatricks expanded further and were awarded the Toyota franchise for County Carlow, with a new dealership opening at Dublin Road, Carlow.

In 2004, Fitzpatricks expanded their product range with the establishment of Saab and Hyundai franchises through their associated companies Saab Centre Kildare and Hyundai Naas.

Over the last 5 years Fitzpatricks have invested significantly in re-developing all their Sales and After-sales facilities to become one of the most advanced and progressive motor groups in Ireland.

In 2008 Fitzpatricks entered into negotiations with Dunne & McDonald in Tullamore who had held the Toyota franchise in Offaly since 1991. This culminated in Fitzpatricks bringing Toyota to a larger garage on Church Road in January 2009. With the extra space Fitzpatricks are now able to offer a full range of facilities for all makes and models such as express servicing, tyre and battery sales and free Pre-NCT checks. Fitzpatricks are fully approved by all leading insurance companies and can therefore handle all aspects of crash repairs on our customers behalf.

Thanks to the acquisition of the Toyota franchise for Offaly, Fitzpatricks were in a position to say that with four dedicated Toyota outlets in Kildare, Naas, Carlow & Tullamore, that we were one of the largest Toyota networks in Ireland, which allowed us to provide both private motorists and companies alike with an unrivalled service.

Equally as important to the Fitzpatricks management in today's economic climate, Fitzpatricks Garage Group are proud to employ over 120 excellent people.

Now in 2013, we are very pleased to inform you that following a strategic review of our operations, we have decided to implement a comprehensive multi-franchise approach to our motor business in 2013.

This approach will see Fitzpatricks Garages develop partnerships with a number of leading car manufacturers including Hyundai, Opel, Honda and Mercedes Benz and offer sales and service of their products at our locations in Counties Kildare, Carlow, Laois and Offaly.

Our Service Departments and Crash Repair Centre are already multi-franchise, offering service and repairs to all makes and models, so our sales approach to multi-brands is a natural progression for us in our continuous development as one of Ireland’s leading motor groups. We will continue our very long association with Toyota and Lexus as Authorised Repairers and we will continue to offer Toyota and Lexus service, parts, warranty and sales on request at our locations in Kildare, Naas, Carlow and Tullamore.
